ART LAB event

The ART LAB event was held at Chapter Arts Centre in Cardiff as part of the Cardiff Science Festival 2022. There was an art exhibition showcasing artworks on the theme of antimicrobial resistance and a film screening of the documentary ‘RESISTANCE’ followed by a panel discussion.

ART LAB: Art of Antimicrobial Resistance exhibition (First Space, Chapter, 19th-22nd February 2022)

The exhibition showcased four commissioned artworks (read more about the artists and artwork here) and entries to a public competition (more information here). There was also an evaluation station where visitors could tell us a bit about themselves and let us know their thoughts on the exhibition.

Screening of the documentary film ‘RESISTANCE’ followed by a panel discussion (Cinema 1, Chapter, 20th February 2022)

The screening of the documentary film ‘RESISTANCE‘ was followed by a panel discussion where the audience could ask questions.

A number of topics were discussed including health, well-being and infection, antibiotic usage in veterinary medicine and farming, antibiotic prescribing, how infections are diagnosed and treated with antibiotics, developing rapid diagnostics for infections, how antimicrobial resistance develops and spreads between people and who is responsible for taking action against antimicrobial resistance.
